LABOUR MPs were accused of pandering to benefit claimants after it emerged dozens rely on their votes.
Almost a QUARTER of people in some party constituencies are on out-of-work handouts.
A league table ranking seats according to the percentage of dole and sick benefit claimants shows 177 seats in the first 200 are held by Labour. Just 16 are Tory and six Lib Dem.
A Conservative MP last night claimed it explains why Ed Miliband?s party last week tried to block a one per cent cap on benefits increases. Priti Patel said: ?It says a great deal why Labour are trying to stop benefit reform.
?They should be acting in the best interests of the country, not worrying about their job security.?
But a Labour source hit back: ?While millionaires get a ?3billion tax cut, the Tories are targeting struggling families.?
The list, compiled from Department of Work and Pensions figures, also revealed a stark North/South divide on claimants.
